BetRebels Sportsbook Review
BetRebels is based in Malta, the island home of a great deal of igaming operators, and it is one of the trading names of Rebels Gaming Ltd.
It has a Maltese licence and targets European customers with its product range which includes sports betting, poker, casino and virtual sports.
BetRebels has not made any significant partnerships or sponsorships.
Betting markets
BetRebels operates a large number of sports betting markets. We’ve put them together in full so you can check them easily here. They are: Soccer, Golf, Tennis, American Football, Badminton, Bandy, Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, Chess, Cricket, Floorball, Futsal, Handball, Ice Hockey, MMA, Motor Racing, Rugby Union, Ping Pong, Squash, Volleyball and Winter Sports.
BetRebels doesn’t offer horse racing which will mean it is severely weakened in the eyes of a great deal of punters. It also does not offer any esports market as yet, a major emerging market in 2016. BetRebels also offers its customers Lottery betting, but it doesn’t offer any novelty markets such as entertainment or politics, the latter of which is growing rapidly in popularity.
Live Betting
BetRebels incorporates a decent choice for punters after an in-play betting experience, though it does not offer live streaming of sporting events which means it loses out its competitors, because an increasing amount of which do offer this, and they offer it well.
There is at least a multichoice layout, and useful live betting calendar.
Usability of the site
BetRebels does not have the most modern of landing pages which doesn’t inspire player confidence, but if you can ignore the aesthetics then you’ll find that, as a betting portal, it is both practical and usable.
There’s a search bar, a number of horizontal bars to navigate you to the part of the site you wish to explore. The ‘easy bet’ feature on the top left is handy THere is also a simple drop down bar along the top of the homepage which allows you to access odds in decimal, fractional or American. Such easily accessible personalisation options are a big win in our book.
Nearing the bottom of the homepage BetRebels has a news ticker which is somewhat in lieu of establishing its own content and blog section. Not a bad idea but it needs to be executed far better as the design looks a bit dull and doesn’t grab the readers’ attention. If altered this could be a great addition to the site.
Customer service is an integral part of a bookmaker’s offering. It offers live chat, email and a contact phone number which means it ticks basically all the boxes. Somewhat uniquely there is also Skype support which is novel and a nice addition to see. It is not big on social media and this is another way it’s letting itself down.
One way in which BetRebels does score points is the various languages the site can be accessed in, these are English, Italian, German, Spanish, Greek and Romanian.
There is no mobile app, but there is a mobile optimised version of the site for those betting on the go. BetRebels has all of the typical banking methods and the not so typical too meaning customers are well covered in this regard, it does not offer Bitcoin though which some bookies are starting to accept.
Conclusion
BetRebels is an online only bookmaker and is part of a Maltese based firm. It’s focused on the European market, and whilst it offers an okay number of sports, and more wagering options such as virtual sports, it needs a site overhaul and redesign if it’s to keep customers coming back and, moreover, stand out.
It needs to add sports markets such as horse racing and esports, add live streaming, get on social media and get its name out there if it wishes to be competitive and draw more customers in. In terms of customer service and payment methods BetRebels is strong.
