Spreadex was founded in the exciting year of 1999 and began trading in 2000. It’s big on sports betting and financial trading. Based in the UK it moved to its new headquarters in St.Albans, Hertfordshire in 2014 after significant growth led to a need to accommodate an increased workforce.
It’s a spread betting firm which offers punters an alternative to traditional fixed odds betting on football, horse racing and many, many more. It has a UK gambling licence as well as being regulated by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission.
It was founded by former City trader Jonathan Hufford with the aim of making spread betting more accessible to the masses.
The Spreadex mobile app was released in the summer of 2011 and in the same year the online casino aspect was launched. Two years later the non-equities business of rival spread betting firm Cantor Index was purchased. Spreadex maintains a social media presence across multiple channels. There’s a Spreadex Twitter account (@spreadexsports) though it has under 4,000 followers, and there’s pages on Facebook, Google +, Youtube and Linkedin too.

Spreadex runs markets and odds in a number of different sports. You can see which ones here: Football, Horse Racing, Aussie Rules, Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Darts, Golf, Greyhounds, Ice Hockey, Motor Racing, Rugby League, Rugby Union and Tennis.

Spreadex is big on in-play, it takes up much of the main homepage with current events and those coming up too. Spreadex cash out is available on accumulators as well as singles which is a nice touch, and there is some live streaming of events to boot!
Usability of the site
You can search for a bet with the search bar function, or browse the traditional way via the left hand column. The site is well laid out, it’s simple and largely graphic and promotion free.
